The Christmas Project 1.01 Patch
Some short history:
For those that have never heard of this project, The Christmas Project was released on December 23rd, 2003 by RustyNails and myself as a little holiday treat for the few people around in the Duke community at the time. You play in the Half Life universe as one of the vortigaunts. You escape a research facility and explore a small town. The mod mixes some complex enemy behavior, making for some high intensity action, with adventure game elements including a big dose of humor. It amounts to an entirely different game than Duke Nukem 3D. Development: This mod was constructed in under a month by just two people. We actually scaled back our original idea which included an escape run through a forest. The programming that allows elements planned for that sequence to work is still present (mostly some scripted friendly AI, and the sky be able to transition from night to morning) and if enough people ask for it I'll package the un-included test maps. We kept a really tight schedule and a very small feature list and had a specific event timeline for the gameplay. The mod was originally constructed using EDuke 2.0. So what is this? This is a simple "re-release" of the original mod, and a link to a file (packaged in '06) that will patch it to work with EDuke32. I thought people that may have missed it back then in '03 might enjoy seeing and playing it now. Please post any comments and let me know if there are any bugs you find that I might not know about or may be related to something that was changed recently in EDuke32 and I'll release another patch file if need be. Links: The TC: http://mb.mirage.org/tcs/tcp/TCP.zip The EDuke32 Patch: http://mb.mirage.org/tcs/tcp/TCP_101_(29-04-06).rar Updated Quick Installation: Make a new directory for the mod, copy duke3d.grp into it, extract the archives, download and extract the latest EDuke32. Screenshots: Quick Hints: * Make sure you use a modern control style, or you'll have a much less fun time. * Your shots shoot in a rapid stream but aren't very quick, so make sure to time them properly. * Look for blue pools of liquid and stand in them to heal yourself. * Pay close attention to any on screen messages. They should help inform you of what you need to be doing. * Watch out for grenades! * The NIGHTVISION key will change the way you see. * The STEROID key will activate a sprinting mode. Be careful when you use it.

Re: The Christmas Project 1.01 Patch
This reminds me of the "Point of View" total conversion for original Half-Life. Looks like fun. Time to try it, I guess...
