I wonder about quick pipebomb keys. If its default key is LeftMouse then how are we gonna activate secondary fire on weapons?

Well if you're using the typical awsd keys for moving around, 'f' is right next to your index finger. So whatever Duke vision is must be pretty important.

Well in Half-Life, the default flashlight key is F, so maybe it's a flashlight in Duke's sunglasses?

i figured it out, if you get scared, the sun glasses go really dark (when you press F) so you can't see anything - like in hitchikers guide to the galaxy

Aarrgghh. Every time I watch the Jace Hall footage, my heart races. The game looked so cool back then, with all those tiny things you wouldn't normally notice, such as reflection of a light source on the ground, and blood landing and staying on your glasses. I can't imagine how good it would look now.

Was an alternate fire ever confirmed? With a few exceptions, HL2 doesn't really have alternate fire (of course, it doesn't have a lot of weapons either).

Meh. I always preferred Chaingun, anyway. I think it's obvious it's the same gun, but what's cool is the idea that the Pigs will carry something other than shotguns.

BTW. This has got to be the best damn thread to come along in a while.

I'm too lazy to find the quote, but I seem to recall something from George confirming alternate fire.

Could be completely wrong, though.

Most of the weapons in HL:2 had alt fire. Pretty bad ass alrt fires, too! I think my favorites were the shotgun (both barrels firing at once) and the Combine gun (I think that's the right one -- alt fire shot the singularity that disintegrated the enemy).

It's likely that many of the different enemies will carry different weapons. This has positives and negatives. Positives include the aliens being mixed up a bit, negatives are that you don't always know what you're facing.

With the shrink ray and the boot stepping on the aliens, a few of the things that were wrong with it was that the leg went through the gun a bit (as though the gun wasn't there) and that the shrink ray blocked the animation of the stomp a bit. Those might be why, in which case they are probably fixed by now.

And what is that big dude in the background to the left on top of the police car in the trooper smack/combo gif?

Those graphics really are nice. Now I'm getting worried again about how much I'll have to spend on a new machine to play the game >_<'

Ps Octabrain is insane. Tentacles move separately and it bites. 3DR really know how to give a cocktease.

mmm it's hard to see in the gifs. In the still picture though he looks like a trooper. Plus it looks like he's flying/floating.

The regular assault troopers from Duke3D had jetpacks too, it's probably not wrong to assume that it's the exact same type seen here as well...

We both confidently agree that after seeing this demonstration, Duke Nukem Forever is looking great, and will easily stand apart from the crowd in both visual and gameplay styles.

Speaking of the blood, those pools of blood look awesome, not the jaggy splatter, but the pools in which the bodies lie in, it really looks like a thick fluid mass with that subtle refletion of light added to the edge of it... Best example for the is the pool of blood on upper right on the pigcop image and lower left too...

I'd freak out of awesomeness of that blood actually floats out of the bodies in real time like that... My bet is though, that it's probably just put there for dramatic effect, and that the actual blood splatter probably looks more simple...
