Well, y'know what man, i give up! I've told you about it enough: > the engine > the other stuff Just let it alone! The conversion is for a personal project of porting LameDuke to Win32 - it shan't be distributed etc, but i'd be checking the legal implications etc of instructing others on how to do so (i would not if legal issues were in the way) my story hasn't changed, you never read another one because there isn't another one, I myself could be seen as a veteran of the duke community - i played it before most people did and grew up with it. I have not stolen anything, some things were wromgly worded but that'll be rectified (i relied on others to upload, as before covered) - if it's stealing, what's the point in open source (e.g. Why is linux about?) and what's your DooM, oh never a rip-off of Doom is it? hmmm.... i don't see how you can judge my game when i've not seen anything written by yourself, if you have wrote any programs they certainly never were found by me, you should try making AI code, operational code and the like, then you might see how much work I did compared to the amount I rightfully used that was not mine. Case Closed for the forseeable future, because all is covered by me, i've admitted where I was wrong and it is being sorted. if i am a troll, than how is thiss trollish. Message to all: Yo! i ain't posting in this topic no more - thus I can't be trolling ![]() ![]() (Ya, that's most likely true for all topics, i have an odd feeling this'll get me banned, what a shame, i so wanted to be a part of this community, and like all other communities, i am rejected for liking different things! - Playing the victim card? Nay, I am the victim, or is everyone illiterate and hasn't figured that out by what's been said on these forums yet? I leave you all to work this out - shouldn't take long.) Bye.

Re: Lameduke Stuff
What the hell? Buddy, did you just mention the Halo Trial Version Demo as if it was somehow the full name of the game? You see, because that game is called Halo. What you're playing is a Trial version (which means it's limited in features and time). It's an incomplete copy of the game used to demonstrate it to you with the intention that you may buy it. If you dislike it you can uninstall it and no harm done (and no money spent). Obviously you apparently dislike it and should probably stop playing it. You can use the time you would have been wasting playing it to instead learn how to use both computers and the English language. Maybe you will even have enough free time to learn manners and respect! Amazing what you can do with all that time!

Re: Lameduke Stuff
That "EMO 3D" engine video was hilarious. Especially when I saw word "crysis" in there.

Re: Lameduke Stuff
Aahh couldn't miss sharing my thoughts here
![]() Not really: "It's a ripoff" (Of what, I don't know...), "it sucks", etc Quote:

Not Eduke32's fault. What machine and OS are you using anyway? Quote:
Quote:
JFduke is different, you may show a preference because of that, but don't come here saying it's worse than Eduke32 when JFDuke is far more unstable than Eduke32. And no, Eduke32 being more unstable on YOUR end doesn't count, as you still haven't provided which OS you're using (or I missed it). Also, I repeat, did you download THE LATEST version of Eduke32? There's a really old version floating around the internet and you probably got that one, that's my bet. Quote:

Last but not least, if you had 5 years when playing Duke Shareware, then you definitely are around 17-19 years old. Just saying, because you said to someone here "Why are you implying I'm 17 when I didn't state my DOB at youtube?" Also, what is this crap? : "You may also consider that I have a criminal record for hacking and other similar crimes - that's all I am saying. except - Try getting in touch with effin youtube to report racial abuse or summat! IMPOSSIBLE!" LATEST VERSION OF EDUKE32. Make sure you've got this one before making accusations. Also YOU DIDN'T APOLOGISE to TerminX for accusing him of ripping someone's work, as you've been proven wrong http://wiki.eduke32.com/stuff

To begin, whether you have been playing Duke Nukem for more time than us or not doesn't matter due to the fact that you were so young - if you are so hard-minded nowadays, I can't imagine how it was like when you were 5 y.o. Now, to the point. This is directed at you, hightreason, in particular (even if you don't return, I bet you'll eventually read this): From all the nonsense you are talking, it is fairly obvious that you have never really been involved in serious software development. You talk at us like if you were in some way superior just because you can supposedly code operating systems (note the proper wording!!) and game engines. Ah poor kid, you don't understand really, huh? TerminX and the rest don't go to all forums like immature children saying "I can program, I wrote operational [sic] sytems, etc. etc." just to catch other people's attention. They take their bussiness seriously. And yeah, in case you didn't know, I in fact am developer at a large open-source game project, which is fairly mature (1.5.3 to go in a few weeks), has a large community of players, testers, coders (in C++, Perl, Python, Ruby and WML), artists (high-res art, sprites, and musicians), system administrators, experts on PHP, HTML, CSS, MediaWiki, and database technologies, including one of the most famous hackers in the open-source movement ('hacker' not as in 'newspapers-lang', don't confuse with 'cracker', you jerk). So I have witnessed and participated the development of open-source at a certain degree. I know how much effort it requires to develop a game engine, to debug and test it, and to improve it. I know how much effort it draws to deal with trolls and suchlike (being moderator at the project's forums), I know when a person is really worth of my time for teaching them or helping them as new contributors, and I can tell when a person can not just "write code", but develop an idea into useful programs. But I don't go repeating this on every one of my posts. I also work in my own open-source project (not known by anyone but me and a few people at another forum), but I don't need to advertise it at every place I visit. I have spent endless nights learning, writing and debugging my own code, aiming to produce a free, open-source, cross-platform game engine for anyone else (but me) to use. I can clearly see that you don't really understand what open-source is about. You can clearly take other people's code and reuse it in your own program, as long as you follow the license terms under which that code was originally published, and give the authors adequate credit. Plagiarism has no place amongst open source. You are stealing other people's work, demonstrated by the sole fact that you are claiming to have done it yourself. But I don't go repeating this on every one of my posts. In the matter of open source, when I said that "Eduke32 is a fork from JFDuke", I meant it. Eduke32 *is* JFDuke plus lots of bugfixes, enhancements for add-on creators, new features for mappers (Mapster32), stabilitiy and performance improvements. Its parts inherit the original licenses (GNU GPL v2 for the Duke3d specific code, Ken Silverman's custom license for the Build engine), the credits to the authors of every part, and the freedom of use, enhancement and distribution that all this is about. But your freedom ends where other people's freedom start (a proverb I use, in Spanish). And that is something you should always remember, because you don't live alone in this world. We are all human beings and we all deserve freedom. And we all shall have that freedom, as long as it doesn't harm (in any degree) other human beings. This specially important for me and the users at the project SVN repository I admin (side-project to the first one I mentioned above), and the wikis I sysop. And don't use your friends as a excuse for your own mistakes. If you are doing so, and you really have those friends, then they probably don't deserve you. In fact, they would be really disappointed if they read this (as long as they are not psychos like you). So yeah. All your babble pissed me off already. In fact, it deserves a lot more wording that I'm not going to use... not for now, at least. ![]() So, Welcome to the Internet. If you can't survive here, you won't survive in Real Life either. Unless you start learning now. Regards -- Ignacio P.S. And don't bring your RL issues here. If you read the "General Messages" subforum, you'd notice that most of us have them. If you read all the subfora carefully as well, you'd notice the people here (in particular the ones who have posted in this thread) are friendly indeed, albeit those issues. Naturally, they are so as long as you don't act in unfriendly manners. You act unfriendly rude, voilą, you get bashed (and eventually banned). Obviously. Spoiler: Spoiler:
