Are the DC textures (maybe four of them?) really so essential that you can't replace them?

I Think you should make a new map but thinking before adding new textures, for example don't use DukeDC if there's a chance that people won't have it. I think building a map HRP only is borderline...let alone adding textures from add ons like DukeDC or Caribbean, The people that will play it is not much if you make it too difficult to install.
As I said, I recommend making a new map from scratch having those points in mind. |

Nah, all he needs to do is to put whatever new tiles he's using in a seperate ART file (preferably TILES014) and include it with his map.

After a long time, I've built a new map.
To play it, you will need Atomic Edition, HRP and sd_duke. (I used those to build this map) The map isn't very long (about 50 enemies), but there are big areas. To finish the map, you must find the exit door. Please give it a try and leave some feedback! ENJOY! the attached file BTW, my last map/mod doesn't work with newer versions of sd_duke anymore! |

You will really have to stop using SD_Duke for your maps. I would love to download this and try it but I dont want to use SD_Duke because I use another enanching mod. Could you release a non SD version?

Well, I cant try it yet. But when I downloaded that other map (Even the newer updated one by DT) it still was screwy, missing textures ect.

Just played Dabigone. Very short but enjoyable for what it was, it had a rather Quake-ish feel to it which I liked. There's a sky texture bug when playing in 8 bit mode which you may want to know about (screen attached).

Deeper Thoughts Duke Plus, Its in his Sig. Lets mappers make see though water easyly and just bout any thing else. Plus it has most of the effects of SD_Duke

I know that the fog in water is documented but I cant rember how to make the fog in normal sectors, but im pretty sure it has something to do with the PAL's

I know, the map is very short, but I didn't want to investigate so much time in this map like in my last one. @The Commander: My last map works only with hrp, sd_duke and it uses some textures from Duke It Out In D.C. Since newer sd_duke releases there are even more Problems. Maybe, I will remake my map and it won't need DC textures and sd_duke anymore. Perhaps I will delate my mod and use only original textures. |

Actualy I was talking about the first map. Yes, the one that causes some problems, because I also had missing textures but somehow managed without them. But it's not the fault of the map and it was great. I'm going to play this short one later.

Well, guess what!
I've remade my first map and I've needed just the whole weekend for that ![]() I replaced all mod and DC textures (except for one). So now, my level is playable without any mods. I've already tested it with classic mode, Duke Plus and Sd_duke. Everything works fine, but in classic mode, the level is very dark and many sprites are out of place ...but it's playable ![]() The map is still very, very long! I'd be happy if people play my level. And please tell me every bug (I guess there are some, because I really did a lot of changes) ENJOY! AREMADE1 |

How to get out of this room? Both the door in the pic & the one you use to enter the bar get locked once you enter this conference room: ![]() These sprites should be flat: ![]() This looks a bit odd although I'm sure it's got to do with the fact that I'm playing without the HRP: ![]() The flag needs to be flipped. Also, why did you remove the cool looking Duke statue? It looked particularly neat with the HRP: ![]()

Thank you for testing it in classic mode!
In the conference room there is a table with a switch on the back side next to the screen. If not, I will have to correct it in classic mode. I will correct the sprites in second pic. In HRP there would be a light effect in third pic. The flags are aligned in sd_duke. But for now I can't make any changes. I got big problems with my new graphics card ![]() |
